The Tullahoma High School softball team went to Marshall County Tuesday and won 14-3 to advance into the district championship game.
Amaya Sharp pitched all five innings, striking out three and only allowing two earned runs. She threw 79 pitches, gave up five hits and walked three batters.
The Lady ‘Cats bats went off in the third inning, when they picked up six of their 13 hits. Kylee Holt led the team in base knocks with three. Addye Norman, Brinley Gillam, Aleigha Raby and AC Holloway all had two hits. Madison Goad and Kaitlynn Gattis had the other two hits. Goad hit a three-run homerun in the third to make it 10-0. This was Goad’s thirteenth homer of the season. Tullahoma drew six walks. Goad and Elizabeth Simpson took two each. Gattis and Sara Tate took the other two. 10 of the Lady ‘Cats’ runs were scored with two outs in an inning.
Goad won the vote for “Tennessean high school regular season softball player of the year” with 64,711 total votes.
The championship games is tonight at 5:30 at East Middle School.
